The Rams look to open the season 2-0 for the first time since 2003 and to defeat the Flyers for the first time in the fourth meeting between the two teams.

Dayton enters the game with a 1-0 record after a 31-12 opening-day win over Central (OH) University on August 31st.

The Rams will be led into the game by a stingy defense, which shutout Rhode Island in the season opener last Sunday. Nicholas Magiera, the Patriot League Defensive Player of the Week, led the defense with seven total tackles, including 3.5 for loss and two sacks. Andre Delaire added nine solo stops while Ryan Mehra finished with six tackles, including three for loss and two sacks.

Offensively, running back Xavier Martin rushed for a career-high 169 yards while quarterback John Skelton completed 14 of 26 passes for 267 yards and two touchdowns last week. His favorite receivers were Jason Caldwell and Asa Lucas, who each caught three passes for 95 yards and a score.
