Fordham Men's Soccer Announces 2008 Schedule

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham men's soccer team announced their 2008 schedule today, which will feature nine non-conference games, nine Atlantic 10 contests, and an appearance in the 2008 Loyola Black and Decker Soccer Classic in Baltimore.

The Rams, who qualified for the 2007 Atlantic 10 Championship last year with a 5-4 conference mark, open the 2008 season by playing in the Loyola Black and Decker Soccer Classic at Loyola College on August 29th and 30th. Fordham will open the tournament by facing the host school on the 29th at 5:00 p.m. and then take on Drexel University on the 31st at 11:00 a.m.

Fordham will then open its home schedule on September 5th when they host the University of Delaware on Jack Coffey Field at 7:00 p.m., the first of four straight home games for the Rams. Following the Delaware game, Fordham will host Lehigh University on September 7th at 1:00 p.m., Villanova University on September 13th at 7:00 p.m. and then Manhattan College in the annual Battle of the Bronx on September 17th at 7:00 p.m.

The Rams then take to the road with games at Marist College on September 20th at 7:00 p.m. and Hartwick on September 27th at 7:00 p.m. before returning to Jack Coffey Field to face Bryant College on October 5th at 3:30 p.m. in the second game of a Fordham men's/women's doubleheader

Fordham opens Atlantic 10 play on Friday, October 10th by hosting Charlotte on Jack Coffey Field at 7:00 p.m. and then hosting Saint Louis on Sunday, October 12th at 1:00 p.m. The Rams will also have home Atlantic 10 games against Rhode Island (Oct. 31) and Massachusetts (Nov. 2). Road conference games for the Rams will include La Salle (Oct. 17), Dayton (Oct. 24), Xavier (Oct. 26), Temple (Nov. 7th) and Saint Joseph's (Nov. 9th).

The Rams will look to make their second straight appearance at the Atlantic 10 Championship, which will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from November 13-16, 2008.
