Nicole Marshall Named Fordham Women's Swimming and Diving Most Valuable Player

Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University sophomore Nicole Marshall was named the 2007-08 women's swimming and diving Most Valuable Player it was announced at the 74th annual Block F Awards Dinner at the Villa Barone Manor on April 30th.

Marshall enjoyed a record-setting sophomore campaign, breaking Fordham marks in the 200 breaststroke and the 200 individual medley while also being a member of two record-setting relays. She set school records for the 200 breaststroke and 200 individual medley at 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship, taking fourth in the 200 IM in a time of 2:05.84, breaking the former school record of 2:07.46 set by Erika Newell in 2004 and also finishing fourth in the 200 breaststroke in a time of 2:19.73, surpassing the old record of 2:20.38 set by Elizabeth Lehre in 1997. Marshall was also a part of both the 200 and 400 medley relays which set school records at the championships. She also scored in the 100 breaststroke (fifth) at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship.
