Tallahasse, Fla. - As the lone Fordham competitor, junior Matt DiBuono took on 23 other competitors in the hammer throw event at the NCAA East Regional on Saturday afternoon in Tallahassee, Florida to wrap up the 2008 outdoor track & field season.

DiBuono was an automatic qualifier as the Atlantic 10 champion in the hammer, but by the time the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship came around he had already qualified for the regional with an automatic qualifying mark and school record throw of 197' 3".

On Saturday, he placed 16th overall at the NCAA Regional. Fouling on his first and third throws, DiBuono came through with a second toss of 180' 2".

DiBuono finished ahead of competitors from Cornell, Penn State, Dartmouth, Binghamton, Coastal Carolina, Georgia, Clemson, and Rhode Island.
