Golf Stands 10th After Day Two of Atlantic 10 Championship

Results Through Day Two

Winter Garden, Fla. - Defending champion Charlotte grabbed a commanding 20-stroke lead at the 12-team field after the second round of the Atlantic 10 Men's Golf Championship, which is being played at the Orange County National Golf Center. Fordham is currently 10th.

The 49ers shot a 14-under-par 274 for a two-day total of 552 on the Panther Lake course to capture a 20-stroke lead over Dayton, who entered the clubhouse with a 293 on day two for a 4-under total. Rhode Island fell to third-place shooting a 295 on the afternoon for a total of 573 stokes. Xavier is fourth at 581 and Richmond is in fifth-place at 583. St. Bonaventure (585), Temple (590), George Washington (591), Saint Joseph's (601), Fordham (608), Duquesne (616) and La Salle (626) round out the field.

Charlotte's Jonas Enander Hedin took the individual lead after two rounds at 8-under after scoring a two-under par 70, while teammate Corey Nagy set the pace for the afternoon with the day's low total of 66 strokes. Dayton's Rob Chappell is tied with Nagy for second place (137), while Jordan Utley of Richmond and Charlotte's Stefan Wiedergruen both share fourth place (139).

In all, 12 golfers are at or below par for two rounds.

Fordham had a much better second day, shooting 297, following their day one total of 311. The Rams had two golfers shoot under par on day two.

Senior Michael Finocchi continued to lead the Ram golfers, as he is tied for 16th overall, after a one-under-par round of 71 (75-71-146 = +2). Junior Nico Mizono though had the top round of the day with a two-under-par 70. He is currently tied for 33rd at +6 (80-70-150). Senior Charles Sterken shot a second consecutive round of 76 is tied for 36th at +8 (76-76-152), while senior Trevor Seufer shot another round of 80 and is tied for 53rd (80-80-160). Senior Joseph Neydon shot an 81 on day two to go with an 82 from yesterday and is tied for 55th (82-81-163).

Final round of play of the 54-hole event commences on Sunday with tee times starting at 7:30am at the first tee.
