Philadelphia, Pa. -
Fordham senior shortstop Rich Goulian (Kinnelon, N.J./Seton Hall Prep) was named Atlantic 10 Baseball Co-Player of the Week for games through May 18th. This is Goulian's second Player of the Week award this season.
Goulian wrapped up his stellar Fordham career by hitting .571 (8-14) this weekend in Fordham's series win over Massachusetts. He collected two doubles, two home runs, two stolen bases, and nine RBI. His biggest game came in his final one, as he tied a season-high with four hits, while driving in a career-best five runs in the Rams' 13-10 win on Saturday. Fittingly, the game ended on a double play ball to Goulian and fellow senior Eric Reese.
Goulian set a number of career-highs this season, leading the team with a .351 batting average, 60 runs, 72 hits, 14 doubles, 107 total bases, and 36 stolen bases. He also set career-highs with five home runs, 41 RBI, and 41 walks, while being ranked in the top five nationally in stolen bases.
For his career, Goulian finished as the Rams' career leader in games played (206) and at bats (759), while ranking fourth in runs (169) and walks (128), fifth in hits (226), triples (11), and stolen bases (70), and sixth in doubles (42).
Fordham ended their season with a record of 29-24-1, 13-14 in the Atlantic 10.
