Finnerty & Hilario Named Atlantic 10 Academic All-Conference For Outdoor Track

Philadelphia, Pa. - Senior Tom Finnerty (Midland Park, N.J./Midland Park) and junior Clifton Hilario (Circleville, N.Y./Pine Bush) were selected to the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Academic All-Conference team it was announced today. It is the second Academic All-Conference honor for both runners, as Finnerty earned All-Academic for cross country as a junior, while Hilario was All-Academic for indoor track & field, earlier this season.

Finnerty, an Economics major, has been one of the top distance performers for the Rams this season. He won the 1500 meters at the 2008 Metropolitan Outdoor Championship and was a member of the winning 4x400 relay, which helped Fordham capture their first team title. He was then a part of the distance medley relay, which took second at this year's Penn Relays. At the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship, he placed sixth in the 1500 meters (3:57.94) and 19th in the 5000 meters (15:29.78), while being a member of the 4x800 relay that placed third and qualified for the IC4A Championship.

Hilario, an Accounting major, has been a major contributor to the Rams' relay teams, competing in the 4x400, 4x800, and distance medley relay. He was a member of the winning 4x400 relay team at the 2008 Metropolitan Outdoor Championship, which helped Fordham capture their first team title. He was then a part of the distance medley relay, which took second at this year's Penn Relays. At the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship, he was a part of both the 4x400 and 4x800 relays that each placed third and qualified for the IC4A Championship.
