Monroeville, Pa. - The Fordham University men's tennis squad closed out play at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championships with a 4-1 loss to the University of Dayton at the Club for Life. With the loss, the Rams finish the tournament tied for eleventh.

The Rams opened play by dropping the doubles point as Sotiris Georgiou and Peter Slucky fell to Dayton's Peyton and Antonio Rodreguez, 8-4, at second doubles and Nick Kelly and Ken Fukumoto lost third doubles to Michael Koscielski and Joshua Vance, 8-4. Dallas Harting and Austin Shoup were victorious at first doubles for Fordham over Dayton's James O'Connell and Matt Sherman, 8-5.

The Flyers then won the match by winning three of the four completed singles matches. Georgiou picked up the Fordham point with a 6-3, 6-2 win over Peyton at fifth doubles. But Shoup lost to O'Connell at second singles (6-0, 6-3), Pat Tool fell at third singles to Sherman (6-1, 6-0) and Slucky was upended by Bryce Warnock at sixth singles (6-2, 6-3).

The Rams will next be in action on Wednesday, April 9th, as they host Vassar College on the Hawthorn/Rooney Court at 4:00 p.m.
