Newark, N.J. - Dominique Liguori won at first singles and Catherine Kellner took second singles to lead the Fordham University women's tennis squad to a 4-1 win over NJIT on Thursday. With the win, Fordham improves to 5-8 on the year while NJIT falls to 9-7.

Liguori defeated NJIT's Iulia Doci in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-1, while Kellner was also victorious in straight sets, upending over Isha Toor, 6-2 and 6-0.

The Rams opened the match by taking the doubles point, winning two of three matches. Liguori and Ellenoira Featherston teamed to take first doubles for Fordham from Doci and Fatima Kasem, 8-4, and Martina Featherston and Kellner, won at second doubles over Toor and Dasa Stanmirovic, 8-4. Fordham's Brittany Russell and Elizabeth Stall dropped third doubles to Chiori Koike and Fanny Aizier, 8-4.

Also winning in singles action for the Rams was Ellenoira Featherston, who won at third singles over Kasem, 6-4 and 6-0 while Martina Featherston lost at fourth singles to Aizer (6-0, 6-0). Fifth and sixth singles were not played due to weather conditions.

Fordham will next be in action on Sunday, April 6th, as the Rams face New York University at the National Tennis Center in Queens at 12:00 p.m.
