The Fordham golf team closed out play at the Mt. St. Mary's Spring Invitational on Saturday, held at the Quail Valley Golf Club in Littlestown, Pa. Fordham finished 15th out of 18 teams.
Longwood University won the team title with a score of 863 (288-287-288), followed by Army in second at 883 (297-294-292). Fordham posted a three-round total of 935 (321-305-309) for the tournament.
Individually, Army's Matt Krembel won the individual title after shooting a 66 in the final round for a total of 206 (74-66-66), followed by Longwood's Scooter Buhrman (67-75-70-212) and LIU's Greg Nicolson (73-68-71-212).
For Fordham, Michael Finocchi was the top performer, as he tied for 30th overall after shooting 228 over three rounds (79-72-77). Nico Mizono tied for 42nd overall with a score of 230 (77-77-76). Trevor Seufer tied for 70th overall at 238 (85-78-75), followed by Charles Sterken (T-72nd - 80-78-81-239) and Joseph Neydon (T-88th - 85-81-85-251).
Fordham's Zach Murray (T88th - 85-83-83-251) and Jared Carusillo (90th - 85-79-89-253) also competed in the tournament, but were not a part of the team scoring.
The Fordham golf team will next be in action on April 25th as they compete in the URI Northeast Invitational at the Green Valley Country Club in Portsmouth, Rhode Island.
