Track & Field Competes at St. John's Monday Meeting

Jamaica, N.Y. - The Fordham University men's and women's outdoor track and field squads competed in the St. John's Monday Meeting on April 14th at DaSilva Memorial Field. The Rams had three events winners on the night with Augustus Gleason winning the 400m hurdles, Andrew Spanos taking first in the 800m and Jeana Fletcher coming out victorious in the long jump.

Gleason turned in a 1:00.39 clocking in the 400m hurdles while Spanos covered the 800m course in a time of 2:05.65 and Fletcher took the long jump with a leap of 15' 5".

Other men competing for Fordham included Fred Wertz, who finished second in both the 100m (11.52) and 200m (23.24); Vincent Servello, who was second in the 400m hurdles (1:02.50) and triple jump (37' 4.5"); Andrew Gorman, who placed second in the 800m (2:06.49); Casey Barrett, who placed third in the 800m (2:10.78); John Korevec, who took third in the 1500m (4:25.53), Tom Papain, who placed fourth in the 1500m (4:27.76)

Fletcher also placed fourth in the 100m hurdles for the women (16.99) while Jessica Berry took third in the 800m (2:34.90).

The Rams will next be in action on Friday and Saturday, April 17th and 18th, as they compete at the Metropolitan Championships.
