A select number of the Fordham track & field team competed at the first of two St. John's Monday Meetings on March 31st.  No team scores were kept.
Tom Kelly got things going for Fordham in the men's 1500 meters, winning the event in 4:18.88, followed by teammates Brendan Ceriello (4:19.24) and Tim Burke (4:23.07) in second and third place, respectively.
Austin McLain-Duer followed with a second place finish in the 400 meters in 53.63 seconds, while Andrew Gorman was second in the 800 meters in 2:03.85.  Fred Wertz also had a second place finish in the 200 meters (23.72).
The Fordham men capped the day by having the top eight finishes in the 3000 meter run.  Andrew Spanos won the event in 9:22.60, followed by Tim Hartnett (9:24.96) and Casey Barrett (9:28.87) in second and third place, respectively.
For the women, Jana Trenk had the top finish, taking second in the 3000 meter run in 12:22.54, while Gina Dermigny was seventh in the 800 meters in 2:45.75.
The Fordham track & field team will next be in action on April 4-5 as they compete at the Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary.
