The Fordham University men's and women's indoor track and field squads wrapped up competition at the 2008 ECAC/IC4A Championships at the Reggie Lewis Track in Boston on Sunday with the Men's Distance Medley Relay placing sixth and Melissa Salerno taking seventh in the 1000m.
The men's distance medley relay of Matt Lowenthal, Michael Kearney, Clifton Hilario and Tom Finnerty was the top Fordham finisher, taking sixth in a time of 7:52.79 after qualifying for the finals with a season-best time of 9:55.0 in the preliminaries on Saturday.
Also competing in the men's relays were the 4x800 squad of Brian Horowitz, Ryan Serkes, Paul Szczepaniak and Tim Hutchinson placed 21st in a time of 7:52.79.
On the women's side, Melissa Salerno placed seventh in the ECAC 1000m in a time of 2:53.20 after qualifying for the finals with a season-best time of 2:53.19 on Saturday.
In relays, the 4x800 relay of Kathleen Reilly, Melissa Salerno, Catherine Groene and Kerri Gallagher placed eighth in a season-best time of 9:12.02.
On Saturday in the IC4A Championship, Matt DiBuono placed sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 60' 8" while teammate Brian Mulkeen took 20th in the event with a throw of 53' 5.5".
Also competing in individual events on Saturday for the Rams were Brian Schmidt and Brandon Ryan, who took 22nd (1:04.57) and 27th (1:05.07) in the 500m, respectively.
