Fordham's Dominique Liguori Named Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Performer of the Week

Philadelphia, Pa. - Fordham University junior Dominique Liguori (Hartsdale, N.Y./The Ursuline School) was named Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Performer of the Week for the week ending March 30th it was announced today. This is the first weekly award for Liguori in the 2007-08 season.

Fordham went 0-2 on the week with a 6-1 loss at the University of Rhode Island on Saturday and a 5-2 loss at home to Stony Brook on Sunday.

Liguori was a perfect 2-0 in singles action on the week, playing at first singles, not losing a set. She started the weekend defeating Rhode Island's Nyssa Peele, 6-0 and 6-2, and then upended Stony Brook's Paola Rodolfi in straight sets on Sunday, winning 6-3 and 6-1.

In doubles action, Liguori teamed up with Ellenoira Featherston to win both first doubles matches on the week, defeating Rhode Island's Valerie Chacon and Christen Cadigan, 8-5, on Saturday and Stony Brook's Claudia Sanua and Erica Federgreen, 8-1, on Sunday.

Liguori is now a perfect 9-0 this year at first singles for the Rams, 5-0 in the spring, while she has also teamed with Featherston to compile a 9-2 mark at first singles.

The Rams will next be in action on Thursday, April 3rd, as they travel to Newark, New Jersey, to face New Jersey Tech at 4:00 p.m.
