Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham University men's tennis squad traveled to Philadelphia on Sunday to face Temple University and were shut out by the Owls, 7-0. With the loss, the Rams fall to 1-9 on the year while Temple improves to 5-12.

Fordham opened the match by dropping the doubles point to Temple, dropping all three doubles matches. Dallas Harting and Pat Tool lost at first doubles to Lawrence Carpio and Pavlos Stephanides, 8-6, while Nick Kelly and Ken Fukumoto dropped second doubles to Eduardo Saavedra and Ricardo Velazquez, 8-2, and Kevin Maloney and Brandon Abbatiello were upended by Zach Tobias and Andrew Choi at third doubles, 8-2.

The Owls won the match by taking all six singles matches with Harting having the best chance to win as he won the first set at first singles over Velazquez, 6-0, before dropping the second, 6-0, and the third, 6-2. Tool fell to Carpio at second singles (6-4, 6-1) while Abbatiello lost to Stephanides at third singles (6-2, 6-2) and Sotiris Georgiou was upended by Saavedra at fourth singles (7-6, 6-0). Peter Slucky dropped fifth singles to Tobias (6-0, 6-3) and Fukumoto lost at sixth singles to Choi (6-0, 6-3) to close out the day's action.

The Rams will next be in action on Wednesday, April 2nd, as they host New York University on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts at 4:00 p.m.
