Richmond, Va. - Fordham opened their spring season in Richmond, Virginia, with Regattas on March 18 vs. the University of Richmond and on the 19 vs. Virginia Commonwealth University.

Richmond is focusing on varsity 4's this season as the women raced one varsity four event with three Fordham shells finishing first, second and third. Richmond trailed the three Fordham crews by open water with all three Fordham shells very close to overlapping.

At VCU the next day all races where in eights. Fordham raced both the 1st and 2nd varsity eights against the VCU varsity women and finished a very convincing first and second. The Varsity winning time was an impressive 7:00 with the JV at 7:35 and VCU V finishing in 7:50. The women also raced a Novice/JV event against a VCU Novice/JV combo shell. Fordham won that event in 7:25 with VCU at 7:39.

The Fordham women's crew will next be in action on May 29th as they compete in the Murphy Cup Regatta in Philadelphia.
