Philadelphia, Pa. - Fordham University freshman pitcher Beckah Wiggins (Conklin, N.Y./Susquehanna Valley) earned her second Atlantic 10 Softball Rookie of the Week award it was announced today. She joins fellow Fordham freshman Jocelyn Dearborn as a two-time Rookie of the Week selection this season.

Wiggins posted a 1-1 record and a 1.58 ERA in three appearances this weekend, as the Rams opened conference play. She held Massachusetts and Rhode Island to an overall batting average of .188.

Wiggins started the week by allowing just one run and six hits in 7.1 innings of work against Massachusetts on Thursday. Then on Saturday, she retired the first 16 batters she faced in a win over Rhode Island, as she struck out five.

The Fordham softball team (10-17, 2-2) will have three doubleheaders this week, starting on Thursday, March 27th, as they play at Wagner College, beginning at 3:30 PM. The Rams will then host Iona on Friday, March 28th at 2:30 PM, and Saint Louis on Sunday, March 30th at noon.
