Philadelphia, Pa. - Fordham University freshman outfielder Jocelyn Dearborn (New Milford, Pa./Blue Ridge) was named the Atlantic 10 Softball Rookie of the Week it was announced today. It is the second weekly award of the year for Dearborn and the third Rookie of the Week award garnered by a Ram (Freshman pitcher Beckah Wiggins received the award on March 3rd).

On the week, Dearborn hit .600 (6-10) with two doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI. She helped the Rams to a 2-1 showing at the 2008 Maryland Invitational as Fordham defeated Seton Hall (8-1) and Columbia (4-1) before falling to 23rd-ranked Maryland, 13-12. In that game, Dearborn went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run and four RBI.

On the year, Dearborn leads the Rams in batting average (.449), home runs (4) and RBI (21).

Fordham, who is 7-10 on the year, will next be in action on Wednesday, March 12th, as they open play at the USF Under Armor Classic at the University of South Florida in Tampa, facing Radford at 9:00 a.m. and Penn State at 11:00 a.m.
