West Point, N.Y. - Dominique Ligouri won at first singles and Catherine Kellner was victorious at third singles to lead the Fordham women's tennis squad to a 4-3 win over Fairleigh Dickinson University in a match played at West Point on Saturday.

With the win, Fordham improves to 4-6 on the year while FDU falls to 4-4.

The Rams opened the match by taking the doubles point, winning two of three matches to the Knights. Ligouri and Ellenoira Featherston teamed to take first doubles for Fordham from FDU's Julija Korshunova and Dzana Ferhatbegovic, 8-6, while Martina Featherston and Kathryn Kellner took second doubles from Jessica DeCarlos and Ksenia Chernyshova, 8-3. FDU took the third doubles spot as Sarah Delliere and Jinny DeCarlos defeated Brittany Russell and Elizabeth Stall, 8-4.

In singles action, Liguori won at first singles in straight sets over Korshunova, 6-3 and 6-3, and Kellner was triumphant over Jessica DeCarlos in straight sets at third singles, 6-2 and 6-2. Stall took the fifth singles match from Sarah Delliere, dropping the first game, 6-3, before coming back to take the second and third sets, by 6-4 scores to clinch the win for the Rams.

Fordham will next be in action on Thursday, March 6th, as the Rams host Long Island University on the Hawthorn/Rooney Courts at 12:30 p.m.
