Mt. Kisco, N.Y. - Dominique Liguori won at first singles and Catherine Kellner was victorious at second singles but it wasn't enough as the Fordham women's tennis squad fell to the University of Massachusetts, 5-2, at the Saw Mill Club on Friday night.

The Rams opened the match by dropping the doubles point, losing two of three matches to the Minutewomen. Fordham's Kathryn Kellner and Elizabeth Stall took second doubles from Maude Lecluyse and Laura Murillo, 8-4. But the Rams' Martina Featherston and Dominique Liguori lost at first doubles to Masha Pozar and Candynce Boney, 8-6, and Brittany Russell and Kathryn Pando fell at third doubles to Massachusetts' Tanisha Hodgson and Kristin DiPiero, 8-0.

In singles action, Liguori won at first singles in straight sets over Pozar, 6-1 and 6-3, and Kellner was triumphant over Hodgson in straight sets at second singles, 6-1 and 6-2. However, the Rams dropped the other four singles matches with Martina Featherston falling at third singles (6-0, 6-1), Stall losing at fourth singles (6-2, 6-3), Russell dropping fifth singles (6-0, 6-0) and Pando being upended at sixth singles (6-0, 6-0).

The Rams will next be in action on Thursday, February 14th as they travel up to West point to face Army at 4:00 p.m.
