Indoor Track and Field Competes at NYU Fast Track Invitational

New York, N.Y. - Select members of the Fordham University men's and women's indoor track and field squad competed at the NYU Fast Track Invitational on Friday night at The Armory in Manhattan.

Leading the way for the Rams was Matt DiBuono, who won the weight throw with a toss of 17.69m.

Also competing for the men were Clifton Hilario, who took third in the 1000m (2:31.55); Brian Mulkeen, who was fourth in the weight throw (17.07m); Brandon Ryan, who won his section and placed seventh overall in the 500m (1:05.03); Tom Finnerty, who finished ninth in the 3000m in a Fordham season-best time of 8:35.96; Christopher Lyons, who was 14th in the 500m (1:07.34); Ryan Campi, who placed 27th in the mile (4:24.51) and Brian Horowitz, who took 29th in the mile (4:25.00).

In men's relays, the 4x800 team of Horowitz, Tim Hutchinson, Brendan Ceriello and Paul Szczepaniak placed fifth in 7:59.07.

On the women's side, Melissa Salerno took third in mile in a Fordham season-best time of 4:55.79 while Kerri Gallagher placed seventh in the 1000m (3:01.99) and Catherine Groene was seventh in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 11.60m.

Also competing for the women were Bridget Carroll, who was finished tenth in the 1000m (3:03.59); Jacqueline Prevete, was was 13th in the 3000m in a season-best time of 10:23.51 and Brigid Moriarty, who placed 15th in 3000m (10:28.41).

The men's and women's indoor track and field squads will next be in action on March 7th and 8th as they compete in the ECAC/IC4A Championships in Boston.
