The Fordham women's basketball team will play their regular season home finale on Wednesday night, as they host the Charlotte 49ers in the first half of a basketball doubleheader at the Rose Hill Gym, beginning at 6:00 PM. Fordham will celebrate Senior Day prior to the game, as the Rams' lone senior, Beth Troutt, will play her final home game.
Troutt, a native of Wichita, Kansas, wraps up a two-year stint with Fordham, after transferring from Dodge City Community College. She has been one of the Rams' top shooters over the past two seasons, connecting on 76 three-pointers and shooting over 30% from behind the arc. She has scored 377 points to go with 156 rebounds and 37 assists, while shooting close to 77% from the free throw line. Her best game as a Ram came last season, where she scored a career-high 23 points against Ole Miss and was named to the Tulane Doubletree Classic All-Tournament team.
SERIES HISTORY: Charlotte has won the only two match-ups between the two schools, which includes last year's 78-46 game at Charlotte.
THE OPPONENT: Charlotte is 16-12 overall, 7-5 in Atlantic 10 play. The 49ers are coached by Karen Aston, who is in her first season at Charlotte.
On the floor, Charlotte has a balanced offensive attack, averaging 65.2 points a contest, with six players averaging at least 7.1 ppg and no more than 11.0. Danielle Burgin leads the team in scoring (11.0), rebounding (8.5), field goal percentage (.485), and blocks (42), while Sabrina Gregory has a team-high 115 assists to go with a 10.5 scoring average.
