Philadelphia, Pa. - Fordham freshman Brian Schmidt (Malverne, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) was named Atlantic 10 Men's Indoor Track & Field Rookie of the Week, for the week ending February 10th. This is Schmidt's second Rookie of the Week award of the season.

Schmidt captured his second straight Rookie of the Week award after competing at the Boston University Valentine's Day Classic. He tied for 29th in the 400 meters in a season-best time of 49.60 seconds, and then ran a leg of the 4x400 relay, which took sixth place overall with an Atlantic 10 best time of 3:16.71.

The Fordham Track and Field team will next be in action on Saturday, February 16th, as they compete at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship, hosted by the University of Rhode Island.
