The Fordham track & field teams split their efforts this weekend, competing at the New Balance Collegiate Invitational at the 168th Armory, as well as at the Valentine's Day Classic in Boston, Mass.
At the Collegiate Invitational, the 4x400 relay teams were the top finishers in the New York Division.  The women's 4x400 relay finished third in 4:09.53, while the men with fourth in 3:29.64.  The men's 4x800 relay also competed, finishing 16th in 7:56.14.
Individually, Matt DiBuono (19th - 56' 1 2/4") and Brian Mulkeen (24th - 51' 3 ½") competed in the weight throw, while Jamal Haruna (91st - 7.31) and Ahmed Haruna (97th - 7.50) competed in the 60 meter dash.
At the Valentine's Day Classic, the Rams had three ECAC/IC4A qualifiers on the weekend.
The women's distance medley relay of Kathleen Reilly, Catherine Groene, Melissa Salerno, and Kerri Gallagher, qualified for the ECAC Championship by finishing 12th in 12:06.88.  The same group also competed in 4x400 relay, placing 22nd in 4:01.35.
On the men's side, Matt Lowenthal qualified for the IC4A Championship in the 1000 meters by placing 12th in 2:29.37, while Tom Finnerty qualified in the mile run, placing 23rd in 4:13.19.
Other individual competitors were Brandon Ryan in the 500 meters (14th - 1:05.50), Ryan Serkes in the 800 meters (75th - 1:58.23), and Brian Schmidt (T29th - 49.60), Michael Kearney (48th - 50.31) and Clifton Hilario (60th - 50.66) in the 400 meters.
In 4x400 relay, Kearney, Hilario, Ryan, and Schmidt placed sixth overall in 3:16.71.
The Fordham track & field teams will next be in action on Saturday, February 16th, as they compete at the 2008 Atlantic 10 Championship, hosted by the University of Rhode Island.
