Swimming & Diving Sweeps Atlantic 10 Weekly Awards

Philadelphia, Pa. - Fordham sophomore Billy Colton (Washingtonville, N.Y./Washingtonville Sr.) and junior Caitlin Napoli (Hauppauge, N.Y./St. Anthony's) were selected as the Atlantic 10 men's and women's swimming & diving performers of the week it was announced today. In addition, freshmen Sean McManus (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) and Courtney Collyer (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Joseph's by the Sea) were named men's and women's swimming & diving rookies of the week.

It is the first ever weekly honors for Colton, McManus, and Collyer, while being the seventh career weekly award for Napoli.

Colton won the 50 and 100 backstroke events against Columbia on Monday in season-best times of 24.52 and 52.30, respectively. He also helped the 200 medley (1:36.71) and 200 freestyle (1:25.78) relay teams to second place finishes and set season-best times.

Napoli also won two events against Columbia on Monday taking the 200 freestyle in a season-best time of 1:52.41 and the 500 freestyle in 5:03.30. She also placed fourth in the 100 butterfly (58.89), while helping the 200 freestyle relay take third in 1:40.36.

McManus helped Fordham to a second place finish in the 200 medley relay at Columbia in a season-best time of 1:36.71. He also scored for Fordham in the 50 breaststroke (5th - 28.73) and 100 breaststroke (3rd - 1:01.36) individually.

Collyer won the 400 IM against Columbia in a season-best time of 4:31.91. She was also third in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.97) and fifth in the 100 IM (1:02.64). In the relays, she was a part of the Rams "B" team in the 200 freestyle relay which took fourth (1:42.71).

The Fordham Swimming & Diving teams will next be in action on December 6, as they will compete in a tri-meet with Williams College and Boston College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, beginning at 1:00 PM.
