Golf Places 14th at MacDonald Cup

New Haven, Conn. - The Fordham University golf squad closed out play on Sunday at the 2008 MacDonald Cup by placing 14th of 15 team at The Course at Yale.

Oklahoma won the team title with a score of 860, followed by Yale (868), Bryant (871), Sacred Heart (872) and Binghamton (889). Fordham placed 14th with a team score of 942, one stroke behind the Yale "B" team.

Bryant's Jason Thresher won the individual competition with a three-round score of 208, two strokes ahead of Liam Logan of Oklahoma while Yale's Colby Moore finished third (212).

Nico Mizono was the top Fordham finisher, shooting a 73 on the final day to bring his three-round total to 223, tying him for 20th overall. Devon O'Rourke carded a final round score of 76 to bring his total to 227, tying him for 34th, while Trevor Seufer registered an 80 in the third round for a 240 total, good for 67th place. Zach Murray, who shot an 88 on day two for a 256 total (76th) and Nik Andresen, who shot a 90 in round three for a 257 total (T-77th) also competed for the Rams.

Fordham will next be in action on October 10th and 11th as the Rams compete in the ECAC Division I Tournament at the Long Island National Golf Course in Riverhead, N.Y.
