Fordham Soccer Teams Move Up in This Week's Regional Rankings

Oct. 29, 2008

Bronx, N.Y. - Heading into the final games of the 2008 soccer season, both Fordham soccer teams find themselves moving up in the regional soccer rankings.

Following two shutout victories this past weekend, the women's team is currently eighth in the Northeast Regional Rankings by Soccerbuzz.com, while being ninth in the NSCAA Northeast Rankings.

The men's team is currently 8th in the NSCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Rankings, following their split of Atlantic 10 matches in Ohio.

Both squads have crucial weekend series, as they head toward the end of Atlantic 10 play. The women's team (10-4-2, 7-1-1) has their final two regular season games on the road in Ohio. Currently, the Rams are in second place and have clinched a spot in the Atlantic 10 tournament, but are fighting for a possible bye, as they meet third place Dayton on Friday and Xavier on Sunday.

The Fordham men's soccer team (7-6-1, 3-2-0) has their final two home matches this weekend at Jack Coffey Field. Fordham is currently tied for fourth place with nine points, but could really control their destiny, as they host Rhode Island on Friday, who is one point behind Fordham in the standings, and UMass on Sunday, who is one point ahead of Fordham.
