Following a one-under-par round of 71, Fordham's Nico Mizono is tied for fourth at the Mt. St. Mary's Fall Classic, which is being held at the Quail Vail Golf Course in Littlestown, Pa. Overall, Fordham is tied for eighth out of 11 teams after the first round.
In the team competition, Long Island University leads with a score of 291, followed by Monmouth (297), Robert Morris (303), and Fairfield (305). Fordham is tied for eighth with Mt. St. Mary's "B" at 316.
In the individual tournament, LIU's Rob Gallagher shot a four-under-par 68 on day one, followed by Duquesne's Ben Wolfe (69) and LIU's Greg Nicolson (70). Fordham's Nico Mizono, Monmouth's Greg Etimos, and Robert Morris' C.G. Mercatoris are all tied for fourth with day one rounds of 71.
Besides Mizono, Devon O'Rourke shot a 76 for Fordham, which is tied for 15th, while Trevor Seufer is tied for 38th after an 82. Nik Andresen, Charles Smith and Zach Murray rounded out the Fordham players, as they are all tied for 49th with a round of 87.
Play at the Mt. St. Mary's Fall Classic is set to conclude on Tuesday with weather permitting.
