Soccer America's Team on the Week - October 15, 2008

Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham freshman goalkeeper Ryan Meara (Yonkers, N.Y./Fordham Prep) earned a spot on Soccer America's Team of the Week for the week ending October 12th. This is the second time a Fordham player has been named to a National Team of the Week this season.

Meara posted six saves in a shutout win over then-#9 Saint Louis on Sunday, giving Fordham their third win over a ranked opponent in the past six seasons. It was his fourth shutout of the season. In addition to Sunday's performance, he made three saves in a 2-1 loss to then-#21 Charlotte.

With this weekend's play, Meara lowered his goals against average to 1.15 on the year, and improved his record to 5-5-1 on the season.

The Fordham men's soccer team will next be in action on Friday, October 17th, as they play at Atlantic 10 opponent, La Salle University, beginning at 7:00 PM.
