Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham University freshman Brian Riley (Rockville Centre, N.Y./South Side) was honored by the Atlantic 10, earning Men's Cross Country Rookie of the Week honors. It marks the second Rookie of the Week award for Riley, who also received the honor on September 29th.

The Fordham cross country squad competed in the 2008 Metropolitan Championships on Saturday at Van Cortland Park, where the men's team placed fourth in the nine-team competition.

Riley was the second Fordham finisher for the men, running the 8K course in a time of 26:32.0, placing 12th overall of 139 runners.

The Fordham men's and women's cross country teams will next be in action on Sunday, October 19th, as they compete at the Red Storm Invitational at Fresh Meadows Park in Queens beginning at 10:00 a.m.
