Fordham's Timmy Will Named CWPA Northern Division Player of the Week

Oct. 14, 2008

Bridgeport, Pa. - The Collegiate Water Polo Association announced its weekly awards today, as Fordham senior goalkeeper Timmy Will (Surfside, Fla./Miami Beach Sr.) was named Northern Division Player of the Week. It is the second time that a Fordham water polo player has earned weekly honors, as Alex Powell received the award once last year.

Will made 32 saves with a steal in 94 minutes of work over three games to earn the Northern Division Player of the Week award.

Against Harvard University in a 14-6 win, he made 13 saves with a steal as the Rams recorded their first win over the Crimson since the 1999 Northern Division playoffs. In addition, he blocked away eight shots in a 7-6 loss to Massachusetts Institute of Technology and stopped four shots in a 12-6 loss to Brown University.

On the season, Will has 182 saves and 23 steals to go with a 9.67 GAA. His 182 saves is just 23 shy on Fordham's single season record of 207, set by P.J. Toolan in 2003.

The Fordham water polo team will next be in action on Thursday, October 16th, when they play at Connecticut College, beginning at 8:30 PM.
