Shelton, Conn. - After seeing their their regatta of the fall postponed due to weather, the Fordham University rowing squad opened their season on Saturday at the Head of the Housatonic Regatta where the Novice 8 took gold and the varsity eight placed tenth.

The novice eight easily defeated its closest competition, Massachusetts, crossing the line in a time of 15:25.012, over 27 seconds better the runner-up Minutewomen.

In the varsity eight, Yale shells took the top four spots followed by Rhode Island (fifth) and Connecticut (sixth). The Rams crossed the line in a time of 15:36.487 for tenth place.

The Rams will next be in action on October 18th and 19th as they travel to Boston to compete in the Head of the Charles.
