Golf Places 13th at the ECAC Division I Championship

Long Island, N.Y. - The Fordham golf squad placed 13th out of 15 teams at the 2008 ECAC Division I Men's Golf Championships at Long Island National Golf Course.

Yale won the team competition with a three-round score of 892, followed by Columbia (893), Bucknell (896), Sacred Heart (901) and Monmouth (907). Fordham shot a team total of 956 over the three-round affair.

Yale's Ben Wescoe won the individual title with a three-round total of 217, followed by Sacred Heart's Pat Fillian and Matt Belizze, who both shot 219.

Charles Smith led the Rams, shooting a 79 in the final round for a three-round total of 239 and 54th place (84-76-79), followed by Devon O'Rourke at 240 (85-80-75), who finished tied for 55th. Nico Mizono (80-80-82) and Trevor Seufer (83-76-83) both shot three-round totals of 242, which tied for 59th, while Nik Andresen finished in 69th (91-83-76 - 250)

The Fordham golf team will next be in action on October 27-28 at the Mt. St. Mary's Fall Classic, held at the Quail Vail Golf Club in Littlestown, Pa.
