Men's Tennis Falls To Concordia

Bronxville, N.Y. - In the first of four make-up matches from this past week, the Fordham men's tennis team fell to Concordia College, 7-0, in Bronxville, N.Y.

With the loss, Fordham drops to 0-2 in the fall season.

Concordia opened the match by earning the double point, taking all three matches. Fordham's Brandon Abbatiello and Daris Mattison put up the best effort for the Rams at second doubles, falling to Andrej Boldarev and Henning Ruenz, 8-3.

In singles play, Concordia swept all six matches in straight sets. Alex Grubin won at first singles over Fordham's Austin Shoup (6-2, 6-1), followed by Boldarev's second singles win over Dallas Harting (6-1, 6-0).

Fordham just missed taking a set at sixth singles, where Peter Slucky fell to Vito Galatioto by scores of 6-4 and 6-0.

The Fordham men's tennis team will next be in action on Saturday, October 4th, as they play at La Salle, beginning at noon.
