West Point, N.Y. - The Fordham women's tennis team opened their spring semester play this weekend at the Army Invitational, where they played matches against Seton Hall and Army's "Black" and "Gold" teams. Play was split at the Invitational, as the doubles were played Saturday and singles on Sunday.

The Rams went 0-3 on the weekend, falling to Army "Gold", 4-3, Army "Black", 5-2, and Seton Hall, 7-0.

On Saturday, Fordham got off to a good start as they won the doubles point against Army "Gold" with wins at first and second doubles. Ellenoira Featherston and Dominqiue Ligouri won 8-4 at first doubles, followed by Martina Featherston and Catherine Kellner taking second doubles, 8-3.

The Rams then went down in doubles to both Army "Black" and Seton Hall. Seton Hall swept all three doubles matches, while Army took the final two doubles matches to win the win the point. Ligouri and Featherston did win at first doubles against Army "Black", 9-7, but it wasn't enough.

On Sunday, both Ellenoira Featherston and Catherine Kellner were lone winners, as they were able to win both of their singles matches against Army at the second and first slots respectively for Fordham points in the match.

The Fordham women's tennis team will next be in action on February 2nd, when they play at Seton Hall.
