Fordham's Nicole Marshall Named Atlantic 10 Women's Swimmer of the Week

Philadelphia, Pa. - Fordham University sophomore Nicole Marshall (Cornwell, N.Y./Cornwell) was named the Atlantic 10 Women's Swimming and Diving Player of the Week it was announced today. It is the first weekly award in 2007-08 for Marshall, who was named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week twice last winter.

On the week, Marshall led the Rams to a 143-88 win over La Salle University in Philadelphia on Saturday by winning a pair of events. She took first in the 200 IM in a time of 2:10.41 and 200 breaststroke in a season-best time of 2:22.18. She also was a member of the winning 400 medley relay team (3:59.88).

On the year, Marshall has turned in Fordham's fastest 100 (1:06.19) and 200 breaststroke (2:22.18) times along with the best 100 (1:00.77), 200 (2:08.44) and 400 IM (4:34.31) times.

The Fordham women's swimming and diving squad will next be in action on Friday, January 25th, as they host C.W. Post at 6:00 p.m. in the Messmore Aquatics Center while the men's and women's teams will be in action on Saturday, February 2nd, as they travel to Amherst, Massachusetts, to take on the University of Massachusetts at 1:00 p.m.
