Women's Basketball Hosts La Salle in Second Half of Basketball Doubleheader

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham women's basketball team will play in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader as they host Atlantic 10 opponent, La Salle University, at approximately 4:30 PM or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the men's game. THE GAME: Both teams have lost their first two conference games, so one will pick up their first conference win of the season on Saturday. It will be the first of two meetings between the Rams and the Explorers, and the 33rd all-time meeting. The Explorers hold a 27-5 lead in the series, after sweeping last year's two meetings.

THE OPPONENT: La Salle is currently 8-9 on the season, 0-2 in the Atlantic 10 play, after falling to Dayton on Wednesday, 45-43.

The Explorers are coached by Tom Lochner, who is in his fourth season, compiling a 50-53 record to date.

On the floor, All-Atlantic 10 selection Carlene Hightower leads the La Salle attack at 17.5 points and 6.4 rebounds, while shooting .412 from the field and .748 from the free throw line. Jamie Walsh, who is one of two players to start all 17 games, also averages in double figures at 11.4 points per game.
