Philadelphia, Pa. - Fordham freshman guard Megan Mahoney (Staten Island, N.Y./St. Peter's) was named Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Co-Rookie of the Week for games through January 13th, it was announced today. It is her second Atlantic 10 honor this season, as she was named Rookie of Week in late December as well.

In her lone contest of the week, Mahoney became the first freshman in the conference to record a 30-point game this season, as she netted a career-high 30 points in the Rams' double overtime loss to Saint Louis on Saturday. Playing 45 of 50 minutes in the game, she was 13-of-26 from the field, adding three assists and two steals.

This was the first time a Fordham player reached the 30-point plateau since Lisa Carrol scored 33 points at La Salle on January 9, 2007. It was also the sixth time an Atlantic 10 player has reached 30 points in a game this season.

Mahoney leads the Rams in scoring this season at 14.3 points per game, which is good for ninth in the Atlantic 10.

Mahoney and the rest of the women's basketball team will return to action on Wednesday, January 16th, as they play at Atlantic 10 opponent Saint Joseph's University, beginning at 7:00 PM.
