Track & Field Competes At Yale Invitational

New Haven, Conn. - Just a day after hosting the Kick-Off Invitational, the Fordham track & field team was back in action on Saturday at the Yale Invitational in New Haven, Conn. No team scores were kept.

Among the highlights, the men's 4x800 relay team comprised of Clifton Hilario, Brian Horowitz, Matt Lowenthal, and Tim Hutchinson qualified for the IC4A Championship later this year. The group finished third overall in a time of 7:51.32.

Besides the 4x800 relay, Fordham had four other top ten finishes at Yale, two of which came in the weight throw. Matt DiBuono placed second with a throw of 55' 9 ¼", while Brian Mulkeen was third with a toss of 53' 11 ¾".

In the running events, the men's 4x400 relay placed ninth overall in 3:22.75, while Brian Schmidt also took ninth in the 400 meters (50.19).

For the women, Fordham had six top ten finishes with three coming in the mile run. Brigid Moriarty placed fifth in the mile in 5:27.17, followed by Kerri Gallagher in sixth (5:31.47) and Bridget Carroll in ninth (5:35.86).

Carroll had another top ten in the 800 meters, placing sixth in 2:26.78, while Jeana Fletcher was tenth in the event at 2:32.41.

In the relays, the women's distance medley relay placed fifth in 12:38.18.

The Fordham track & field team will next be in action on Friday, January 18th, as they compete at the NYU Gotham Cup, hosted at the 168th St. Armory.
