Fordham's Dean Stanic Named Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Co-Player of the Week

Sept. 4, 2007

Philadelphia, Pa. - Senior forward Dean Stanic (Johannesburg, South Africa/Benoni) was named Atlantic 10 Men's Soccer Co-Player of the Week for games through September 3rd.

Stanic opened his 2007 season in style on Friday night, scoring a hat trick on four shots against Marist in a 3-1 Fordham win. It was the first hat trick by a Fordham men's soccer player since Brian Borrhello scored three times against Saint Joseph's on October 6, 2002.

Stanic and the rest of the Fordham men's soccer team (1-1) will next be in action on September 7-9, as they participate in the Brown/adidas Tournament, hosted by Brown University. The Rams will meet Boston University at 5:00 PM on Friday, and then take on Brown at 2:00 PM on Sunday.

Founded in 1841, Fordham is New York City's Jesuit University. With 22 men's and women's varsity sports teams, the Fordham Rams are members of the NCAA Division I and compete in the Atlantic 10 Conference in baseball, basketball, cross country, golf, indoor and outdoor track, women's rowing, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis and volleyball and in the Patriot League (NCAA I-FCS) for football.
