The Fordham University men's tennis squad picked up the doubles point and won two singles matches but it wasn't enough as the Rams fell to La Salle University, 4-3, in Philadelphia. With the loss, the Rams fall to 0-3 on the year while the Explorers improve to 5-1.
Fordham opened the match by taking the doubles point, winning two of the three doubles matches. Dallas Harding and Pat Tool teamed up for the Rams to win second doubles from Ryan Knarr and Andy Petrusky (8-4) while Kendall Fukumoto and Nicholas Kelly took third doubles from La Salle's Christian Harvey and Eric Glick (8-4).
The other two Fordham points came via singles wins with Harding winning at second singles and Sotiris Georgiou at fifth singles. Both matches went three sets with Harding dropping the first set to Matt Rivera, 6-3, before coming back to win the second, 6-3, and the third, 6-2. Georgiou won his first set against Petrusky, 6-4, but dropped the second, 6-1, before winning the match with, 6-2, in the third set.
The Rams will next be in action on Sunday, September 30th as they travel to Staten Island to face the Wagner College Seahawks at 12:00 PM.
