Golf Places 16th at Big Red Invitational

Sept. 30, 2007

Ithaca, N.Y. - After an excellent outing at Dartmouth last weekend, the Fordham golf team looked to continue their stellar play at another Ivy League invitational, this time hosted by Cornell.

Unfortunatley for Fordham, the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course turned out to be a difficult one, as the Rams placed 16th out of 16 teams at the Big Red Invitational.

St. Bonaventure won the team title with a three round score of 878, while Fordham scored 956 for the tournament.

Senior Michael Finnochi was the Rams' top performer, tying for 48th with a total score of 234 (75-78-81), while junior Nico Mizono finished a shot back, tying for 55th (78-80-77-235). Junior David Newman tied for 69th (78-79-84-241), followed by junior Trevor Seufer (75th - 81-82-83-246) and senior Joseph Neydon (84th - 85-84-85-254).

The Fordham golf team will next be in action on October 6-7, as they compete at Yale's MacDonald Cup.
