Hempstead, N.Y. - The Fordham women's tennis team lost another tight match this afternoon, falling to Hofstra, 4-3, in Hempstead, N.Y. Fordham is now 0-2 this fall.
Fordham started the match by earning the doubles point, winning at first and second doubles. Dominqiue Ligouri and Ellenoira Featherston won at first doubles, 8-2, while Martina Featherston and Catherine Kellner won at second doubles, 8-3.
Fordham picked up two more points in singles' play as Ligouri defeated Christie Gattelaro in three sets at first singles, while Kellner topped Morganne Downing at third singles in straight sets.
The match then boiled down to a three-set match between Martina Featherston and Stacey Kent. Kent won the opening set, 6-2, but Featherston won the second set 6-4. Kent though would win the final set, 6-0, and give Hofstra the win.
The Fordham women's tennis team will next be in action on September 29-30, as they participate in the Stony Brook Invitational in Stony Brook, N.Y.
