Philadelphia, Pa. - The Fordham women's tennis team opened their fall season with a 5-2 loss at Villanova on Saturday at the West Campus Tennis Complex.

Villanova jumped out to an early 1-0 lead after taking the first and third doubles matches to open the afternoon. Fordham did win at second doubles as Martina Featherston and Christine Kellner defeated Carla Erskine and Daniella Phillis, 8-4.

Fordham pulled out two singles' matches as Dominique Ligouri and Kellner won at first and fourth singles. Ligouri defeated Jaclyn Williamson, 6-4 and 7-5, while Kellner topped Courtney Reed, 6-3 and 6-2

The Fordham women's tennis team will next be in action on Sunday, September 23rd, as they play at Hofstra, beginning at 11:00 AM.
