Volleyball Wins Battle of the Bronx Against Manhattan

Bronx, N.Y. - The Fordham volleyball team snapped their three-match losing streak this evening, as the Rams defeated Manhattan College, three games to none, at Draddy Gymnasium. Final game scores were 30-26, 30-22, and 30-21.

With the win, Fordham goes to 6-7 on the year, while Manhattan falls 1-9.

Fordham lost the lead only once in the entire match, which came during game two. The Rams also held Manhattan to a negative hitting percentage during games two and three, and a .018 percentage for the entire match.

For Fordham, Katie Wells and Christi Griffiths led the way with nine kills and two blocks each, while Kailee May had seven kills and 10 digs. Katherine Burrell dished out 31 assists for the Rams to go with three kills and six digs.

The Fordham volleyball team will next be in action on September 14-15, as they host the 7th Annual Rose Hill Classic at the Rose Hill Gym. Fordham will take on Seton Hall at 7:00 PM on Friday, and then face Quinnipiac and Central Connecticut State on Saturday.
