FORDHAM WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL HIRES JONATHAN DAVILA AS ASSISTANT COACH

Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham Volleyball Coach Pete Volkert announced the hiring of Jonathan Davila as assistant volleyball coach today.

Davila, a 2005 graduate of Dartmouth, was a four-year starting setter for the Big Green, serving as a team co-captain in 2004-05. He helped Dartmouth finish in the top 25 in Division II Club Teams by the NIRSA four years running with a top ranking of 13th in the nation during the 2002-03 season.

Most recently, Davila worked as an assistant psychologist/counselor at the YAI/National Institute for People with Disabilities. While there, he provided individual and group counseling, taught daily living skills, and developed and implemented treatment and behavioral programming to the MR/DD population.

Davila has also been involved in community service and leadership activites. In 2002, he served as senior counselor for Bronx House in the Bronx, where he interacted directly with camp youths by overseeing planned activities by the camp staff. He also is a member of La Unidad Latina in conjunction with Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity, Inc., which helped create a support system for Latinos and others at Dartmouth by organizing events that promote cultural awareness and providing academic assistance through weekly study sessions. To date, Davila has served as both Treasurer and President of La Unidad Latina, and helped LUL receive national awards under his presidency.
