Bronx, N.Y. - The 73rd annual Block F Awards dinner was held last night at the Villa Barone Manor, honoring Fordham University's student-athletes for their accomplishments in the 2006-07 academic year.
Among those honored was Michael Rosado (Bronxville, N.Y./Iona Prep) who was named Most Valuable Player of the men's tennis team.
Rosado, a senior captain, held down the #1 singles position for the majority of his career, picking up seven wins at first singles in 2006-07, while also playing all of his doubles matches at first doubles
The Rams finished with year with a 6-14 record and they tied for 12th at the 2007 Atlantic 10 Championship.
In addition to his MVP award, Rosado and fellow senior Peter Zipf (Whitestone, NY/Holy Cross) both received Athlete Academic Achievement Awards, as both were seniors with an overall GPA of 3.5.
