Fordham Men's Basketball to Face Charlotte, Duquesne and Temple Twice In 2007-08

Bronx, N.Y. - (July 20, 2007) - The Fordham University men's basketball squad will have Atlantic 10 home-and-home series with Charlotte, Duquesne and Temple next year according to the revamped league schedule for the 2007-08 season.

The Rams learned that the three teams they will face twice in 2007-08 will now be Charlotte, Duquesne and Temple. This will be the third straight year that Fordham will have a home-and-home with Duquesne while Charlotte and Temple replace Rhode Island and St. Bonaventure, who the Rams played twice the past two years, as the other two home-and-home opponents. Fordham last faced Temple twice in 2004-05 while the Rams have never played Charlotte twice in a season.

Additionally, the Rams will host defending Atlantic 10 champions, George Washington, along with Dayton, La Salle, Rhode Island and St. Bonaventure.

Besides the trips to Charlotte, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, the Rams will also have road conference contests at Massachusetts, Richmond, Saint Joseph's, Saint Louis and Xavier.

Dates and times for the games will be announced at a later date.

The Rams closed out the 2006-07 season with an 18-12 overall record, 10-6 in the Atlantic 10 which tied them for fourth place. The ten Atlantic 10 wins are the most for a Fordham team since the Rams joined the conference in 1995-96 while the 18 overall wins are the most for Fordham since the 1991-92 squad went 18-13, Fordham's last winning season prior to this year.

Head coach Dereck Whittenburg returns all five starters from last year's squad, led by forward Bryant Dunston, a Second Team All-Atlantic 10 pick in 2007, and guard Marcus Stout, an Honorable Mention All-Conference selection last winter.
