FORDHAM MEN'S SOCCER ANNOUNCES SIGNEES FOR 2007 SEASON

Bronx, N.Y. - Fordham Men's Soccer Coach Jim McElderry has announced the addition of two transfers and and five incoming freshmen today for the 2007 season. Defender Adam Majorie (Dallas, Tex./Highland Park/Nova Southeastern), defender Michael McTigue (Tuckahoe, N.Y./Fordham Prep/Loyola (MD)), goalkeeper Jon Bratincevic (Glendora, Calif./Damien), midfielder D.J. Corrao (Commack, N.Y./St. Anthony's), goalkeeper Dan Hajducky (Trumbull, Conn./Trumbull), midfielder Brett Heyder (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport-Bluepoint), and forward Louis Vigliotti (Commack, N.Y./Commack) will all suit up for the Rams in 2007.

"My staff and I are excited about our incoming class. The group is made up of quality individuals who will make our program stronger on and off the field. We have an experienced team returning this season, so the incoming freshman class will have an excellent opportunity to learn from the senior players. I will look for all of the freshmen to compete for playing time this fall and be important pieces to our program over the next four years," said McElderry. "Mike and Adam, our two transfers, have a lot of experience from their club teams and their college teams. We will look for both players to come in and help us immediately"."

Majorie, a junior transfer from Nova Southeastern University, started all 34 games the last two seasons at defender, tallying two goals and six assists for ten points. Prior to Nova Southeastern, he played four seasons of varsity soccer at Highland Park High School. He was named First Team All-District as a junior and Honorable Mention All-District as a sophomore. Majorie also played ten years of club soccer, winning the Texas State Cup and the NDCCSA Classic League Grand Championship five times.

McTigue, a sophomore transfer from Loyola (MD) College, saw action in all 18 games as a freshman and was named to the All-MAAC Freshman team. He recorded three shots from his defender position, and helped Loyola record five shutouts. Prior to Loyola, he was a four-year letterwinner and three-year captain at Fordham Prep, where he was named 2005 N.Y. Archdiocese Player of the Year. He earned All-County, All-City, and team MVP honors in 2004 and 2005, while helping Fordham Prep to three N.Y. Archdiocese Championships and the 2005 State final. McTigue also played for the New Rochelle Raiders and Storm Academy club teams, and won metro, regional and national club championships.

Bratincevic, a native of Glendora, Calif., attended Damien High School with a three-year varsity record of 66-7-10. He helped Damien High School to two CIF-SS Division I Champions, and a first or second national ranking each year by the NSCAA & Student Sports. He posted a 0.65 goals against average and was All-League, as well as being named All-Area Teams by the San Gabriel Valley Tribune and Inland Valley Daily Bulletin. Bratencevic also played in the Coast Soccer Premier League and helped his team win the 2006 San Diego Nomads College Showcase and was a finalist in US Club Soccer Regional Super Group. Away from the pitch, he was a student Leader in the Kairos Ministry Retreat, a member of the Letterman's Club, and was a four-year Honor Roll student.

Corrao, a native of Commack, N.Y., was a varsity soccer player at St. Anthony's High School, helping his team to the CHSAA State and League Championship in 2005. A two-year starter, he served as captain in 2006, and received All-State, All-League, and team MVP honors. In 2005, he tied the school record for assists with ten, which was originally set in 1985. Corrao also played club soccer for HBC-ISA Arsenal, serving as team captain and helping the team to the Director's Cup National Championship in 2003. Away from the field, he is a member of the National Honor Society and Honor Roll, and received the St. Bonaventure Award for academic excellence.

Hajducky, a native of Trumbull, Conn., played three seasons of varsity soccer at Trumbull High School, serving as team captain as a senior. In 2005, he earned All-State honors from the Hartford Courant and All-Star accolades from the Connecticut Post after posting a school record 0.49 goals against average and nine shutouts. He also helped Trumbull to the League semi-finals and State Class LL quarterfinals that season. In 2006, he repeated his All-State and All-Star accomplishments. He wrapped up his career with a 24-4-6 record while setting school career records for goals against average (0.57) and shutouts (19). For club play, he played for Beachside Soccer Club, serving as a two-year captain and helping them to the 2005 Potomac Memorial Day Tournament Championship. Away from the pitch, Hajducky is a member of the honor roll and the school newspaper, having had articles published by the Connecticut Post.

Heyder, a Bayport, N.Y. native, was a four-year varsity soccer player at Bayport-Bluepoint High School, while also competing in wrestling and track. He helped Bayport to the 2005 Varsity Division Championship, and was a two-time All-League and All-Conference selection. He also earned All-County honors, after notching 20 goals in 2006. A member of NY ODP from 2002-06, Heyder was a member of the Super-Y League Regional Pool and Metro Division Champion in 2004. For club soccer, he played for the Storm Academy and HBC ISA Arsenal, while academically, he was a member of the honor roll all four years of high school.

Vigliotti, a Commack, N.Y. native, played varsity soccer for Commack High School, helping the team to two League Championships (2006-07). He served as team captain as a senior, and earned All-Conference and All-County accolades, while being a two-time recipient of the Sportsmanship Award (2005-06). A 2006 Northeast Region I player, he has played for the Long Island Rough Riders in the Super Y League (2004-05) as well as the New York Rough Riders (2007). He helped his club team to the 2005 New York State Cup Final, while also having been selected to the Super Y League ODP U15 National Team. Away from soccer, Vigliotti is a member of the National Honor Society as well as the National Society of High School Scholars. He is also a U.S. Achievement Academy All-American Scholar and recipient of the 2007 Presidential Award for Outstanding Academics.
