Bronx, N.Y. - The 73rd annual Block F Awards dinner was held last night at the Villa Barone Manor, honoring Fordham University's student-athletes for their accomplishments in the 2006-07 academic year.
Among those honored was John Pardini (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown) who was named Most Valuable Player of the men's soccer team. Pardini, a sophomore, helped the Rams to their first ever national ranking this season, anchoring the backfield as the Fordham defense allowed just 0.93 goals/game and recorded seven shutouts. He earned Second Team All-Region honors at defender as well as Honorable Mention All-Atlantic 10 distinction.
The Rams, who were nationally ranked for half the season, closed out the 2006 season with a 9-3-5 overall record, 3-3-3 in the Atlantic 10.
